Hi There from the GREAT Northwest! We are excited about all our new visitors, friends, and families who will join us at Dan's Landing for a spell. Here's a bit of information about who we are, where we came from and what we are up to in our personal lives.
About your host, J.R.
J.R. is a retiree from public service in San Diego, and has always had a great love for fishing and being outdoors. During his 30 years in public service, he learned what "service" means. Since taking over the resort, he has added conveniences that were not previously available, and makes it a point to be ready to help whenever help is needed. He is also always ready with a joke or two. As J.R. says it, "Many people in this industry are doing a "job". For me it's a labor of love. I don't need to be here. I'm here because I truly love doing this. I believe my customers enjoy being here mainly because they can clearly see how much I enjoy being here for them."
J.R. says that he doesn't get to fish here as often as he likes. He does, however, receive a lot of questions about what baits are working best, and how to present them. In the interest of providing the best possibe customer service, he frequently can be seen on the dock or in his boat "conducting research". He says it's not a pretty job, but someone has to do it.
J.R.'s background in public service includes eight years in law enforcement and twenty-two years in public transportation as a Supervisor. While in the San Diego area and when not at work, J.R. was a rider and First Lieutenant of the California Gold Angels motorcycle drill team. He has traveled all over the United States on his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, performing for benefit foundations, in parades, motorcycle safety rallies and competing with other motorcycle drill teams in an international drill team competition. He knows what travelers need and want, having been one for so many years, and does whatever he can to provide it.
Do you like down home cooking? He is planning to implement a Saturday night dinner at the resort cafe during the 2008 season. The dinner will be by reservation only, and will be a single item main course, due to the space available in the cafe. Once you've sampled J.R.'s cooking, we're sure you will come back for more.

Dan & Cathy Klukas
Married for many years with many more to go! We met in Yuma , AZ. , and the stories start there! Dan is my Retired Marine, with 20 years of Service in the S2 Division. Cathy has worked for many companies while completing her Batchelor Degree in Economics at CSUSM.
Why a Resort?
Dan & Cathy have lived in a 40' Alpha Gold 5 th Wheel for 4 ½ years during Dan's time in the Marine Corp. Cathy spent her younger years growing up in Newport , WA ,. Enough said? Dan & Cathy have been members of GWRRA, and riding a Gold Wing together since 1993. Traveling with there friends, family, and pulling their camper to stay at many Resorts and camp grounds around the good ol' USA ! We have experienced the beauty of the desert, the majestic views of the Pacific Northwest , and the Oceans blue! Great times with many miles to go!
